Kosher Catering
- What does kosher catering cost?
- Buffet style catering usually costs the same as a three course sit down meal since the need for extra food offsets the savings on serving staff.
- In either instance, reputable kosher catering typically starts from about £85 per head for 100 guests if you shop around and go with one of the cheapest quotes. At the other end of the scale, you are looking at upwards of £200 a head for 100 guests if you’d like food that wouldn’t be out of place in a Michelin starred restaurant. An open bar and drinks are included in both cases, but you probably won’t be offered premium wines if paying the bare minimum and you will need to pay extra for any upgrades like additional meat dishes. On the upside, some caterers offer generous discounts for young children, so if half of your headcount is under ten it might not cost as much as you imagine.
- Many (non-kosher) venues don’t offer dry hire at all, making otherwise idyllic settings unsuitable for kosher catering.
- Some venues that offer dry hire insist on charging you the same price as they do for a fully catered function, so it’s worth starting your search for a venue early on or enlisting the help of a professional who knows the venues and their quirks having negotiated with them before.
